Overview

NCP engineering has developed a solution for managing IIoT infrastructure and remote access through a central management system. The NCP engineering solution provides complete control and secure encryption through a central IIoT gateway, an IIoT remote gateway within the industrial infrastructure installed on equipment, machines or systems, and a management system for managing and monitoring IIoT components and remote access infrastructure.

The IIoT remote gateway can be installed and operated directly on equipment, machines or systems. The central IIoT gateway receives encrypted data from the IIoT remote gateway and sends it on to subsequent systems. All connections between the end devices and the IIoT remote gateway, or the central IIoT gateway and the IIoT gateway, are encrypted with advanced algorithms (for example, Suite B cryptography). For additional security, all machine certificates can be managed centrally utilizing public key infrastructure (PKI). This ensures unique authentication for all end devices. The management system provides multi-tenancy allowing several production sites to share a single platform. This is done using group assignment and a convenient rights management system. As administrators can only access the production sites they are assigned to, data is kept secure and cannot be accessed from other protected areas.

The broad range of applications includes remote access, connected cars, ATMs and digital signage to wind turbines and security cameras. NCP engineering also supports smart buildings and smart city deployments that can comprise of various sensors, meters, lighting, and other devices. During remote maintenance, identifying target systems can pose a challenge if networks are configured identically. NCP engineering’s components allow direct communication to the correct destination through unique temporary IP addresses and authentication data of the gateways and clients.
