Bots have evolved quickly from its first generation, years ago, where they used simple scripts. The common sophisticated bots today are considered the fourth generation, which mimics humans’ unexpected mouse and typing patterns. NuDetect for Account Takeover can detect fourth generation attacks by looking at parameters such as the typing pattern, the device information, and the device angle information among others.
There is a next generation of bots that deploy hybrid attacks. These are bots that, when they encounter a challenge they can’t bypass, such as a complex CAPTCHA, they send that request to a human in a human farm to solve it. When a human is involved in the attack, how can a bot-tool detect it? This is why NuDetect for Account Takeover (a solution within the NuDetect suite) goes beyond and also identifies abnormal and human patterns. The solution has the visibility into these types of behaviors looking at passive biometrics to mitigate in real time.
This solution is not dependent on previously-seen scripts. This means that it doesn’t depend on a content repository network to be accurate. Instead, it has a sophisticated machine learning model that interprets each interaction presented to it and searches for anomalies. Legitimate humans behave differently than bots or “human farmers”, but it takes a sophisticated tool to see that.
