Overview

Cydome is the leading cybersecurity company whose products are specifically designed for the maritime industry. The company caters to fleets and offshore vessels with its bespoke, comprehensive cybersecurity suite that eliminates the shortcomings related to off-the-shelf products. With Cydome’s unique, proprietary technology, it allows vessels to have complete, automated, built-in cybersecurity checks and real-time monitoring for both IT and OT systems on vessels during their voyage at sea.
For shipping, cyber risk assessment is a key step to both understand the vulnerabilities of network, systems and equipment and to estimate the effectiveness of the existing cybersecurity posture.p This is one of the most challenging aspects for IT team, and it cannot be assumed that if there have been no cyber-attacks or breaches until now this means cybersecurity defenses are robust and effective. To do this, shipping companies must be able to effectively measure their risk vulnerability via KPIs and metrics which should be done in a dual-layered approach: the organisation as a whole and the vessels/onboard assets.
Cydome’s solution assists IT managers to measure their cybersecurity effectiveness and how at risk they are of a cyberattack. With Cydome’s real-time monitoring capabilities and continuous vulnerability scanning (attack simulation), all vulnerabilities are easily reported together with the mitigation recommendation. Furthermore, with unauthorised/3rd parties access detection, the company can demonstrate the frequency of access to internal networks and its monitoring.
Cydome has been offering its Cyber security assessment services for ship owners to conduct a full cybersecurity posture gap analysis on dozens of fleets and issued over 100 reports to fleet owners, while conducting full cybersecurity scoring per each vessel and fleet as a whole.
Cydome became the first international Certification Body for Maritime Cyber Baseline in 2022. This new standard has been developed by the IASME Consortium together with the RINA, the Royal Institution of

How we are different

Ship-wide protection - This is particularly important, as coverage of part of a vessel or its systems will not fully protect the ship if the attacker can penetrate from another vector. Unlike other operators who can only secure parts of a vessel, Cydome provides protection of the whole ship - none of the solutions provided today by the communications and satellite providers can offer such full-spectrum coverage. Cydome is an innovator in cybersecurity for maritime which has satisfied the needs for cyber protection for IT, OT and IoT networks and systems of some of the most technically demanding ship operator teams in the world. The coverage also includes protection from 3rd party vendors’ access to the ship. Dozens of vessels and a couple of hundred devices are currently being monitored onboard.

Cydome invests a large amount of its profits into research and development to ensure its solutions are always up to date and preventing attacks with the specific maritime requirements, being the only cybersecurity real-time solution onboard ships to gain certification by the Maritime Classification Society RINA as RINA Certified Cybersecurity Solution. Cydome also partnered with Constanta maritime university, to solidify their commitment and to act as a joint hub for all maritime participants to contribute to the cyberthreats database.

Compliance with regulations – The solution is designed to assist ship owners and operators to effectively validate ongoing compliance with international maritime regulations. The solution provides fleets with cost-effective, automated inspection and analysis tools to conduct cybersecurity gap analysis under the appropriate maritime regulations. Cydome is the first international Certification Body for the “Maritime Cyber Baseline”, a scheme developed by the IASME Consortium together with the Royal Institute of Naval Architects, verifying ship compliance.
