Overview

SnapID™ is a text messaging-based single-step login and authentication product that completely eliminates usernames and passwords while providing significantly greater security than traditional two-factor authentication methods. With SnapID™ users never have to remember, type, manage or reset user IDs or passwords.

To login to any SnapID-enabled website all the user needs to do is send a simple text message via standard SMS.

When a user visits a SnapID-enabled website a button appears beneath the standard user ID/password fields that reads “Login with SnapID”. When the user clicks that button a one-time-password appears in an overlay box on the screen telling the user to text the number to our system. The user texts that code from their phone (which, like any other authentication system, must be preregistered to that user) into the SnapID cloud.

• SnapID is simpler than any other login or authentication process.
• SnapID is more secure than traditional 2FA because the carrier checks the unique device ID to ensure that the cell phone number has not been spoofed before even sending it to the SnapID cloud.
• SnapID is more secure because SnapID then evaluates the mobile number to ensure that the correct code has come from the correct mobile number.
• SnapID is more secure because the browser is omitted from the process, thus completely eliminating man-in-the-middle attacks.
• SnapID eliminates the need for password managers, lists, remembering user IDs, password resets and a significant portion of customer support calls.

SnapID is simple, secure and has a zero learning curve. Click to display the one-time-password, text it to the SnapID cloud and you’re done.

How we are different

• Simplifies logins by combining user ID and password functions while simultaneously improving security beyond typical 2FA systems.
• Offers higher security than any other SMS-based 2FA system because sending a text message FROM a mobile is vastly more secure than receiving one (which can be spoofed, intercepted, watched, etc.)
• Is simple and inexpensive to implement.
