Gurucul is changing the way enterprises protect themselves against insider threats, account compromise, data exfiltration, IP theft and fraud, external intruders, and more. The company has developed a cyber security platform, Gurucul Risk Analytics (GRA), that ingests huge volumes of data generated by user access and activity across on-premise and cloud applications to identify anomalous behavior that spans time, place, access and actions. With a 360-degree context for identity, accounts, access and activity, Gurucul GRA detects cyber threats that appear “normal” to traditional security products and identifies advanced security threats and low-and-slow attacks in their early stages, with an extremely low rate of false positives.

The company pioneered a new cybersecurity category, called user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA). In 2014, Gurucul was named a Gartner Cool Vendor in Identity and Access Management, a SINET 16 Innovator in both 2014 and 2015, and in 2016 was selected by both SC Magazine US and Europe as the Best Behavior Analytics/Enterprise Threat Detection platform.

The company is developing and applying advanced technology to solve organizations’ biggest cyber security challenges and continues to innovate. Gurucul developed an industry-first self-audit capability that empowers users to monitor their accounts for anomalous and suspicious activity, similar to fraud alert reports provided by credit card companies and credit monitoring services. Since users are able to recognize activities they did not perform, even the most difficult to detect cyber threats can be identified and stopped using this capability. The latest platform version allows customers to implement data lakes of their choice while performing big data sharing analytics across those sources, regardless of whether they are cloud, on-premise or hybrid. This not only provides efficiencies in security analytics but also significant savings by avoiding SIEM indexing fees, proprietary storage and data transfer fees.
