About the Guardian Agents category
What belongs in this category
The Guardian Agents category is about securing AI, with AI agents as the supervisors. As organizations run more agents than people can supervise, some products use agents of their own to watch those agents. Typical entries review other agents' plans and outputs, check actions against policy before they run, detect when an agent has been manipulated or is drifting from its task, and stop unsafe actions, reversing them where possible, escalating to a person when needed.
What defines this category is that an AI agent does the supervising. Products that monitor and restrict agents through a control layer, without a supervising agent, fit Agentic AI Security, and organization-wide agent policy fits Agentic AI Governance. A guardian agent product can be entered a second time in Security for AI.
Related categories to enter
Each category is judged separately, so you can enter a product in every category that matches what it does, with a separate nomination for each. Tailor each nomination to that category's focus. Entering several related categories gives the product more than one chance to be recognized.
How entries are judged
An independent jury of security practitioners, analysts and CISOs scores each nomination on leadership, innovation and impact. Each nomination competes in its category against organizations of similar size and region, so a mid-sized firm is not ranked against a global enterprise. Your entry package, any sponsorship and public votes do not affect the jury's scores.
Strong entries in this category show:
- Leadership — the agents the product oversees: agents and platforms covered, actions reviewed, and customers that rely on it to run agents without constant human review.
- Innovation — an oversight problem solved in a new way, such as reviewing an agent's plan before it acts, catching subtle drift from a task, or explaining each intervention to a human reviewer.
- Impact — what changed: unsafe agent actions stopped, human review time cut, more agents allowed into production. Give figures from customers.
The jury awards Gold, Silver or Bronze, or a Finalist badge, and results are published on this site and announced to the 600,000+ member Cybersecurity Insiders community. Every approved nomination also enters the separate Community Choice award, decided by public votes.
