Overview

With AT&T SASE, enterprises enhance security, increase network performance, and reduce complexity and costs. As digital transformation continues to drive the convergence of networking and security, technology teams are faced with the challenges of managing and protecting increasingly complex networks as well as the connections that support them. As a result, security professionals are looking for a solution based on SASE principles that are suited to a distributed computing environment where employees, customers, and suppliers can have secure access to applications, data, and services anywhere.

AT&T SASE is comprised of AT&T SD-WAN for a cloud-managed networking solution, AT&T Secure Remote Access for zero-trust network access, and AT&T Secure Web Gateway for secure internet and cloud application access. The service moves away from data center-oriented security, instead unifies customer’s networks and security tools into a single stack delivered via the cloud, providing edge-to-edge protections for remote users and data centers. This managed service helps organizations improve network performance, enable resilient access and defend sensitive data and protects against unauthorized use and loss.

AT&T is a leader in managed SD-WAN / SASE and offer Managed SASE in 150+ countries, plus wireless internet in 70+ countries, which is an important advantage because a common setup for SD-WAN is DIA with LTE/4G/5G backup. Our SDN-based network-on-demand offers provide customers the ability to procure dynamic bandwidth across our portfolio of AT&T Switched Ethernet on Demand, Internet, and MPLS.

AT&T SASE is a fully managed solution where we support the customer from design to delivery to ongoing network management. Resources are assigned to each implementation, including project managers with experience delivering deployments of all size, domestically and across the globe. AT&T engineers, who possess deep technical expertise and experience, collaborate directly with customers and technology partners to analyze existing applications, security requirements, and traffic patterns. This analysis is used to design solutions that prioritize mission critical applications and traffic to deliver optimized performance back by AT&T’s operational teams who incorporate years of proven deployment and assurance best practices with modern AI and ML tooling providing the best user experience. AT&T’s self-service portal, powered by a virtual AI assistant, enables zero-touch provisioning, lifecycle management, and the ability to execute logical network changes.

Key Capabilities / Features

• AT&T SD-WAN with Cisco is a cloud delivered overlay wide-area network (WAN) architecture. This solution connects branches to headquarters, data centers, and multi-cloud environments, while providing visibility into the performance of each circuit, delivering a predictable user application experience. Offers better experiences for users across multiple connection types Simpler to build, scale, and extend security and access policies across the SD-WAN fabric.

• AT&T Secure Remote Access with Cisco is a comprehensive ZTNA solution that offers highly secure access to applications, wherever they are hosted, from users at any location. Provides access to the specific applications users need to complete job duties. Additionally, verifies user identity and device health before allowing connection to company resources.

• AT&T Secure Web Gateway with Cisco offers integrated, cloud-native security that unifies protection against web based threats with firewall, domain name server (DNS) security, cloud access security broker (CASB), and threat intelligence solution into a single cloud platform. Protects users, data, and applications from today’s complex, multi-stage threats and accelerates detection and response with actionable threat intelligence.

How we are different

• For our customers deploying DIA (the most common underlay for SD-WAN/SASE, AT&T offers add-on security – AT&T Dynamic DefenseTM, which is available in major US hubs. It filters network traffic and makes use of the AT&T threat intelligence knowledge base. AT&T Dynamic Defense demonstrates AT&T’s security expertise, as does our more than 1,000 security patents.

• With AT&T SASE’s combined networking and security technology and service expertise. AT&T’s robust range of network service choices (DIA, broadband, wireless, Ethernet, MPLS, and IP VPN) with SD-WAN allows AT&T to design solutions that meet their unique requirements. Also having single-vendor SASE and best-of-breed options allows AT&T to support the full range of customers—from SMB to enterprise.

• An important differentiator for AT&T Managed SD-WAN/SASE is our gateways that enables customers looking to create a hybrid network with an elegant path to integrate MPLS seamlessly with their SD-WAN/SASE overlay network. With strategically placed gateways, we provide highly secure network-to-network interconnections (NNIs) between the customer’s MPLS and SD-WAN/SASE networks. Normally customers would have to create such a gateway themselves.
