Overview
BIO-key PortalGuard – Single Sign-on (SSO) creates a single, secure login to access all of your applications with out-of-the-box SSO integrations – even for the “difficult-to-integrate” ones. PortalGuard’s SSO supports multiple open standards including SAML, WS-Federation, OAuth, OpenID Connect, Shibboleth, and CAS, making it easy to protect and eliminate passwords for on-premises, legacy, thick client, and web applications from a single Identity Provider (IdP).

1. Integrates and eliminates passwords for all applications – unlike the competition who only supports web-based protocols such as SAML, PortalGuard has a wide range of protocol support to make sure all applications support SSO, such as CAS which is specific to many higher education applications. Also, PortalGuard offers the unique capability to provide SSO to thick client or legacy applications. These applications do not support more common identity federation protocols and are often left secured by just a username and password, creating a vulnerability for the business and frustration for users.
2. Offers true biometric authentication and strong multi-factor authentication (MFA) options – PortalGuard offers over 16 different authentication methods for MFA. As the only IAM platform on the market to have integrated Identity-Bound Biometrics, PortalGuard offers true biometric authentication methods that have the integrity, security, and availability required for enterprise security – unlike competitors who only offer device-based biometrics (e.g. Apple TouchID) which are more convenient than secure and allow for unauthorized delegation. PortalGuard supports standard fingerprint authentication methods, as well as BIO-key's unique MobileAuth with PalmPositive mobile app which uses a simple palm scan to authenticate the user.
