Overview

The Achievements of CDAC’s security awareness programs as part of Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) are involving all 51 institutes and all the level of staff to participate . Partnering with key departments like IT security,HR ,Police,Legal ,Education Boards,Government offices, Municipal corporations etc. Our experts presentations covers how to use the technology safely apart from do’s and do’nts with thumb rule “prevention is better than cure”. Bi-monthly newsletter with current topics with solution tools . Creating new content , newsletters,posters ,stickers,games,newsfeeds, using social media, videos for different level and age of users young/old, cartoons for children, conducting talk shows in Doordharshan, Awareness campaign in Print and Electronic media including AIR for maximum impact. All CDAC and Neilit centers with participation from 51 Institutes (www.isea.gov.in) apart from Police Departments,LEA’s etc are triggered to conduct Awareness activities all over India. Workshops at all schools and colleges under the concern Education Boards,universities by signing MOU’s.Seperate website designed for disseminating information on www.infosecawareness.in and accepting “Request for workshops”, Printing,posting newsletters to all schools,colleges, Private and govt offices / departments / Libraries etc. conducting National and state level competitions ,conducting Awareness weeks/months in association with Police departments, road shows,Distribution of posters ,stickers,phamplates, Flex banners etc. Using Social networking media Facebook,twitter,youtube,Linkedin, googleplus etc. creating Master trainers to implement at all schools covering all states of india ,using network marketing in whats app groups sending each day one tip with video.Conducting Cyber security weeks/months with police departments cyber cells distribution/display of posters, stickers at ATM’s,Banks,flex banners, conducting road shows, effective usage of MyGov database for bulk sms and Email campaighn. Innovative steps taken towards developing animated videos, cartoon stories and comic books for children, short movies on information security concepts, different kind of hand books for the general public, government officials, master trainers, home.

Accomplishments

Under Information Security Awareness activity, workshops at various locations have been conducted . As on date, 1000 workshops have been organized across the country covering about 2 lakh Teachers/ Parents/ CSC/ NGOs, Including various government officers etc., and school children/ Engg. or Degree college students. During these workshops, around 2,50,500 Awareness Kits (with promotional material, Booklets and Hand Books) were distributed. 60 posters on various topics of Information Security Awareness were designed and around 4,20,000 posters were distributed to target users. Further, around 145,000 stickers were distributed in major cities Internet Safety Week in association with Cyber Police, NASSCOM, and DSCI. Thirty three (43) cartoon/ animation (3D/2D) videos have been developed and made available through website. Twelve (36) e-newsletters were designed and distributed through email/ website. 12 newsletters were designed, printed and distributed across colleges, schools and government organizations. A dedicated website for information security awareness (http://www.infosecawareness.in) has been developed. Course material like guidelines for XP, Windows server 2008, Vista, Linux, wireless configurations developed. Security e-Books developed (Security Guidebook, Security Tool Kit, Children Hand Book, Guidebook for Teachers and Parents) and made available on the web site for downloads . Designed and developed Information Security Awareness Diary with 365 tips; 365 Days Information Security tips calendar; Wall calendar ; Table top calendar Pocket Calendar. Hindi ,Telugu /Tamil /Malayalam version of Security Awareness Handbook. All these activities are spear headed by Chas Murty from the start.
