Claire is passionate about helping organisations create and sustain effective information security teams. With over 17 years of industry experience, and qualifications including a Bachelor’s Degree in Police Studies and Post-Graduate studies in e-Crime Investigation, Claire demonstrates a lifelong commitment to her chosen profession.

In her consulting business Claire works with both domestic and global organisations that are deemed to be high risk due to the nature of their business, including superannuation funds, online/ecommerce start-ups and payment providers. In a global sense, Claire has worked regionally with responsibility for cyber in countries including Australia, India, China and Hong Kong.

Claire has developed an innovative 5-step framework (outlined in her Amazon best-seller book ‘The Secure CIO’) to assist organisations with advice and reassurance about the effective hiring of leaders to address cybersecurity risk. This framework forms the basis of both The Secure CIO and her consulting practice, and highlights the demand and industry need for the services she offers her clients.

Claire works tirelessly to promote women in the cybersecurity industry, and places a strong focus on helping to coach and grow female information security professionals, from graduate level right through to industry leaders. By actively taking on volunteer roles with organisations such as the Australian Women in Security Network, Claire works proactively towards increasing the number of women entering and working in the cyber security industry.

Industry mentoring plays a huge role in Claire’s work, and she happily assists those that ask. Her commitment to work with people at all levels of the industry for the betterment of their own career, as well as that of the industry, is inspiring.

Her drive to assist her clients in establishing exceptional information security practices is in turn driving change within the industry, one organisation at a time.
