Overview

Cloud-in-a-Box (CiaB) is a cloud security service designed specifically to allow local and regional service providers to quickly deploy cloud security services, including web application firewalls, web scanning and anti-DDoS, to its customers with minimal expertise and without the upfront costs typically associated with creating a cloud service infrastructure. CiaB is the only product in the market today that allows small providers to sell branded cloud security services without requiring large capital investment; the provider can host basic services cloud security services on two on-premise VM hosting servers or in the public cloud. As demand increases, CiaB can easily be scaled by adding additional VM servers. Branded customer and partner portals are hosted and provided by NSFOCUS.

The NSFOCUS Cloud Services Team provides the security expertise, management and support typically only financially available to large service providers, opening this service up to local and regional service providers who otherwise may face the financial challenges of upfront costs associated with implementation.

In addition to traditional customer/provider portals, licenses, training and support, CiaB offers all the parts needed to build cloud security services including virtual security appliances and virtual servers. CiaB can also be further integrated into the NSFOCUS DPS Cloud for enhanced protection and mitigation against large-scale DDoS attacks.

How we are different

Cloud-in-a-Box differs from competitors by offering web application firewalls, web scanning and anti-DDoS to smaller companies at a viable price point and offers a revenue share model to minimize investment.

The revenue share program for CiaB encourages participation based on the amount of infrastructure deployed and supported by the service provider. CiaB grows as much or as little for an organization based on needs and sales requirements. Total cost of ownership differs based on the needs of each individual customer, ranging from low to moderate. The low end of cost involves NSFOCUS providing the entire infrastructure, while moderate costs are associated with the number of virtual hosting servers for protection nodes that are deployed locally. This allows service providers to quickly deploy cloud security services with minimal investment and resources, then grow as needed. As performance requirements increase, CiaB will scale up by automatically provisioning and activating additional Protection Nodes to meet those needs. CiaB can also deactivate protection nodes as performance requirements decrease.
