In an age when cyber attacks have become commonplace, Cloudflare is one of the few companies pushing the envelope and looking to innovate. There isn’t a company in Silicon Valley doing more to better the Internet. Cloudflare offers effective and affordable DDoS protection, protecting more than 4+ million customers globally.
In 2014 Cloudflare unveiled Universal SSL, supporting SSL connections to every Cloudflare customer, including the 2 million sites that signed up for the free version of their service. In a year when cybersecurity threats seemed bigger and more frequent than ever, Cloudflare was able to make the once complex and expensive Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption available to anyone, ultimately making the Internet a safer and more reliable medium.
Cloudflare also unveiled Universal DNSSEC, which guarantees that a web application’s traffic is safely routed to the correct servers so that a site’s visitors are not intercepted by a hidden “man-in-the-middle” attacker. Providing DNSSEC universally is a unique offering from Cloudflare.
Cloudflare has built one of the largest global networks to date, using its own infrastructure developed from scratch. The company currently operates 101 data centers across 49 countries, and this intelligent network allows for Cloudflare-powered websites to see significant improvements in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks.
