Overview

Huawei was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Shenzhen, China. Since 2012, the company has been the largest telecommunications equipment maker in the world. The company also sells networking equipment to enterprises and is the third largest consumer mobile device maker in the world. Huawei has a broad network security product portfolio, including data center firewalls, next generation firewalls (NGFWs), distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) protection, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and mobile security for corporate and employee-owned devices. The company released a sandboxing appliance, FireHunter, in May 2015 during Huawei Network Congress, and a big data analytics offering, Cybersecurity Intelligent System meanwhile. Huawei joins hands with partners to propose building a Cloud Mitigation Alliance to defense large DDoS attack worldwide. Huawei also partnered with FireMon, leading vendor in firewall management field, to provide better solution to manage and optimize firewall policies. In the long term, expect Huawei to deliver an end-to-end security portfolio that spans endpoint to cloud.
