Overview

Irdeto’s Trusted Biometrics solution provides a FIDO-compliant second factor authentication for payments and other secure in-vehicle operations through a natural conversation with a digital assistant. Adding a second, biometric, layer of authentication ensures that the right to use a vehicle or resource associated with a vehicle is actually tied to the permissions granted to the user, not the permissions present by default in the car. By offering a solution decoupled from the big technology voice assistants (like Google Assistant or Alexa), OEMs, Tier 1’s, and System Integrators have the power to implement second-factor voice authentication in a way that best suits their in-vehicle experience and customers.

Irdeto’s Trusted Biometrics solution enables integrators to solve many of the technical challenges with deploying biometrics solutions directly, including control over training sets and profiles to ensure the right mix of population diversity, the right usage scenarios and background environments are accommodated, and the training set is tuned to the in-vehicle hardware. In addition, it is also possible to layer Irdeto’s Trusted Voice Biometrics authentication with other biometric authentications as well as other secondary factors, again, aligned with the OEM’s customer profile and market segment.
