Kapalya empowers businesses and their employees to securely store sensitive files at-rest and in-transit across multiple platforms through a user-friendly desktop and mobile application.

Kapalya has intelligently developed an innovative approach to the management of user encryption keys. Our unique technology serves encryption keys in real-time and destroys them once the encrypt or decrypt function is complete. In doing so, security keys are never stored on devices or on servers, thereby drastically reducing the risk of data being compromised.

Most encryption vendors today supply one key for each user, forcing companies to manage key rotation to ensure security. Kapalya’s Encryption Management Platform (EMP) elevates data protection by supplying one unique encryption key for each file and folder. Zero knowledge key management allows users to manage their own keys, masking privileged users, cloud admins and local admins from accessing user data.

The EMP is cloud agnostic, allowing users to share encrypted files amongst users across multiple cloud platforms. In sharing files, only the unique key for that particular file is shared, unlike today’s common approach where sharing a file requires users to share the one key that accesses all their files.

Kapalya is unique in that it protects data on endpoints, private clouds and public clouds all in one solution. Typically with today’s market offerings, an IT department would have to deploy several different vendors including an MDM, CASB and traditional server protector to deploy all the data protection benefits Kapalya provides.

Kapalya holds an exclusive license to an NSA developed patent on authenticated cryptography. In addition, Kapalya has access to utilize NSA Scientists and Cryptographers to further develop the Encryption Management Platform through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA.)
