Overview

Trusted by millions of individuals and thousands of organizations, Keeper Security is transforming the way businesses and consumers protect their credentials, secrets, connections and sensitive digital assets to significantly reduce the risks of identity-related cyber attacks, while gaining organization-wide visibility and control. Keeper has continued to distinguish itself as a pioneer in cybersecurity through its innovative research initiatives.

Through 2023 and 2024, Keeper partnered with analyst firms and third-party researchers to gauge insights from global IT and security executives and consumers about their attitudes, practices and concerns regarding password and Privileged Access Management (PAM). Keeper’s surveys yield invaluable insights into the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity. These research initiatives have helped guide Keeper’s approach to product development and enhancement, and have shaped broader cybersecurity discourse.
The survey findings revealed the industry desire for Keeper’s next-gen PAM solution, KeeperPAM, reinforcing the effectiveness of Keeper’s approach to password management, and underscoring the criticality of upholding password best practices.

In March 2024, Keeper released its latest insight report, The Future of Defense: IT Leaders Brace for Unprecedented Cyber Threats, revealing that cyber attacks are increasing in sophistication with novel Artificial Intelligence (AI) threats and advanced emerging attack techniques that today’s IT professionals feel ill-equipped to defeat.

Despite this ever-evolving threat landscape, the fundamental rules of protecting an organization in the digital landscape remain relevant. Organizations should prioritize adoption of solutions that prevent the most prevalent cyber attacks, including password managers and PAM solutions. Keeper’s password manager mitigates risks by enforcing strong password practices, and KeeperPAM safeguards an organization’s vital assets by controlling and monitoring high-level access, collectively fortifying defenses and minimizing potential damage in the event that a successful cyber attack does occur. Integrating these solutions creates a layered security approach that stands the test of time.

Key Capabilities / Features

Keeper’s research initiatives have helped guide Keeper’s approach to product development and enhancement, and have shaped the broader cybersecurity conversation.

Keeper released its Keeper Password Management Report: Unifying Perception with Reality in June 2023. The report revealed that a majority (64%) of global respondents either use weak passwords or repeat variations of the same passwords, highlighting just how vulnerable individuals are to password-based attacks, and spotlighting the importance of creating strong, unique passwords for every account. In August 2023, Keeper announced findings from the Keeper Security Parental Practices Report: Conversations on Cybersecurity. This study highlighted the need for increased awareness and education on digital safety among parents and the importance schools play in filling this gap.

Following the parental focused report, Keeper published the Privileged Access Management Survey: User Insights on Cost & Complexity, revealing an overwhelming industry desire for PAM solutions that are easier to deploy and maintain, with 84% of IT leaders saying they wanted to simplify their PAM solution. Keeper later released its Privileged Access Management Survey: Deployment Amid Economic Uncertainty, revealing that 56% of respondents tried to deploy a PAM solution but did not fully implement it, and 92% cited overly-complex solutions as the main reason. In December 2023, Keeper announced the Keeper Security Insight Report: Cloud-Based Privileged Access Management. This report explored what IT and security leaders are seeking in a PAM solution and the benefits of moving away from traditional, on-premises platforms.

In March 2024, Keeper launched its latest insight report, which reveals cyber attacks are increasing in sophistication with novel Artificial Intelligence (AI) threats and advanced emerging attack techniques that today’s IT professionals feel ill-equipped to defeat. As the sophistication of attacks increases, so does the volume: 92% of survey respondents reported cyber attacks are more frequent today than one year ago.

How we are different

Keeper Security was co-founded by two cybersecurity visionaries, Darren Guccione (CEO) and Craig Lurey (CTO). Fourteen years ago, Darren and Craig conceived the early plans for the world’s top-rated password manager and secure digital vault on a long overseas flight.

Today, Keeper is the leading provider of zero-trust and zero-knowledge cybersecurity software protecting passwords, passkeys, privileged access, secrets and remote connections. Trusted by millions of individuals and thousands of organizations, Keeper is transforming the way organizations and individuals protect their credentials, secrets, connections and sensitive digital assets to significantly reduce the risks of identity-related cyber attacks, while gaining organization-wide visibility and control.
Keeper isn’t just committed to security; they are fanatical about it. Keeper's zero-trust and zero-knowledge cybersecurity solutions are FedRAMP and StateRAMP Authorized, FIPS 140-2 validated, as well as SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliant. Every organization needs to secure its passwords, credentials, secrets and connections to reduce the risk of cyber attacks and defend against internal and external threat vectors. Keeper’s priority is to create simple, easy-to-use and highly scalable solutions to help meet the needs of today’s IT and security professionals.

Keeper is the first company to unify three essential IAM products - Keeper Connection Manager, Keeper Secrets Manager and Enterprise Password Manager - to create a next generation Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution called KeeperPAM. Keeper provides the most critical components of privileged access management without the complexity of traditional PAM solutions to quickly and seamlessly integrate with any existing tech and IAM stack, and achieve enterprise-wide coverage and visibility. The solution enables zero-trust and zero-knowledge security and compliance by unifying password, secrets and connections management into one platform.
