Overview

ManagedMethods is the leading Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) and Microsoft 365 cybersecurity, student safety, and compliance platform for K-12 school districts. The platform monitors district Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 email, file sharing, chat, and video conferencing apps 24/7/365 and empowers district IT admins with full visibility and control of their cloud environment.

ManagedMethods uses cloud-native API integrations to help IT admins secure sensitive data on any device, from any location. The platform uses artificial intelligence-powered malware and phishing threat protection, detects and remediates account takeovers, and secures data from malicious and accidental breaches. Out-of-the-box and customizable data loss prevention policies allow IT admins to automate enforcement, including notifications, password resets, revoke sharing, and other tasks without the need for custom coding or switching to different tools.

IT and student resource teams also use ManagedMethods to monitor student safety signals in Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 apps. Turnkey and customizable policies detect signals such as cyberbullying, self-harm, discrimination, threats of violence, explicit content, and domestic abuse in both text and image content.

This spring, ManagedMethods introduced its Google Meet & Chat monitoring and reporting features. This allows IT teams to see who has attended a class in Google Meet, when each person joined, where they joined from, how long they were in the session, if screen sharing was enabled, and more to help keep remote learning operating smoothly.

In the fall, ManagedMethods launched its Google Classroom monitoring and reporting features for IT admins. With these features, IT teams can see the students not enrolled in assigned classrooms and students enrolled in classrooms they shouldn’t be in. They can also scan Classroom announcements for student safety risks, including cyberbullying, self-harm, inappropriate and explicit content, and personally identifiable information.

With ManagedMethods, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 security is made easy.

How we are different

Made for the “new normal”: As a cloud security platform, ManagedMethods secures not only access to the application, but also controls the activity occurring in the application itself. In the new remote learning environments school districts are in, this means IT admins have the ability to monitor the classrooms created by teachers and the students connected remotely in Google Classroom, monitor who is attending class in Google Meet and view what activity is taking place. By doing so, IT teams can better secure their sensitive data, and keep teachers, students and staff protected during remote and hybrid learning.

Visibility: ManagedMethods allows IT admins to secure their district’s data, and protect students and staff, from the district’s authorized users — themselves. School districts have platforms such as content filters, firewalls, and endpoint security that keeps the outside intruders from getting in — and also prevents students from accessing things online that they shouldn’t. District’s don’t have many tools that offer protection on the inside by monitoring the internal activity for the same threats that other tools look for in different spots. This is how ManagedMethods differs from the competition and deserves recognition — by offering K-12 districts protection at a layer that others aren’t addressing.

No User Impact: Since ManagedMethods is cloud-based, there is no impact on students and staff in terms of network stability or ease of use. Students and staff don’t even see the platform. Additionally, while other platforms have been scrutinized for too much access and control when it comes to privacy, ManagedMethods only looks at the data that lives inside the district’s environment — and doesn’t collect or store data. As a result, ManagedMethods helps IT admins monitor for cybersecurity and student safety risks, without putting the privacy of students and staff at risk.
