In 2023, Proofpoint introduced key innovations for DLP including:

• Privacy by Design for DLP: As international organizations work to meet new and changing local privacy and data sovereignty requirements, Proofpoint released new privacy-related capabilities so that organizations can mask sensitive data or anonymize user identifying data in the console to limit its exposure and create custom data access policies to address privacy and compliance needs. 

• Misdirected Email: Leveraging machine learning for anomaly detection as well as content scanning, Proofpoint’s new Misdirected Email solution prevents employees from accidentally sending emails and files to the wrong recipient and possibly creating a data loss incident.
