NOMINATION HIGHLIGHTS
Sai Kiran Uppu is a senior threat and AI researcher at Adobe whose work has established him as a recognized innovator at the intersection of AI and security, particularly in AI-driven threat intelligence, automation, and defensive research. He is currently leading efforts on agentic use cases in threat detection, where he is utilizing blend of agents to self orchestrate and hunt for threats based on the emerging threats using LLMs and LangChain.
Innovation and impact
AI-powered threat intelligence: He spearheaded an AI driven threat intelligence platform that cuts detection and response from days to minutes by proactively assessing threats against enterprise systems. The same research underpins his invited talk “Supercharging Threat Intelligence with AI: Automating IOC Extraction and Enrichment,” which has been presented at IEEE SVCC 2025, The Diana Initiative 2025, and as a guest lecture at Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology. Industry coverage (Silicon Valley Cybersecurity Institute) describes the work as reducing IOC triage time from two hours to under ten minutes and quotes: “AI is not just an accelerator; it’s a force multiplier for security teams.”
He has authored two peer reviewed journal articles (SQL injection defense; cloud SaaS threat analysis), two Adobe Tech Blog posts on data security schemas and DMZ/firewall hygiene, and maintains a widely used Capture-the-Flag methodology resource. He has served as a judge for the Monterey Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge.
Invited speaker and panelist at IEEE-affiliated and community conferences (SVCC 2025 industry session and “Responsible Cybersecurity for AI and PQC” panel; The Diana Initiative 2025; BSides SLC 2024); invited guest lecturer at Penn State IST; organizer of the Adobe CTF at SVCC 2025 (100+ participants).
First place in Recorded Future’s RSA Conference CTF (2025) and Northrop Grumman CTF (2019); top Adobe team in Airbnb CTF (2024–2025); finalist in the MCP & A2A Hackathon (AWS, 2025).
Together, his technical contributions, publications, conference and academic speaking, judging, and CTF leadership demonstrate sustained innovation and impact in AI security and threat intelligence worthy of AI Security Innovator of the Year.
