Some data security solutions secure content based on encryption, while others offer a metadata approach. Security Sheriff does both. Rather than compartmentalizing content, Security Sheriff can scan content at rest or in motion to detect sensitive data and automatically classify a document based on the presence of data or use existing metadata to determine who can access data and documents, regardless of location. Administrators can easily configure secure metadata and choose values to suit any business requirement. Authorized users can classify or declassify documents at the file level. Once classified, documents are automatically controlled according to defined policies and can be automatically encrypted based on their classification or the presence of sensitive data.
