Overview
Skyport Systems has re-architected the x86 hardware and software stack into a turnkey, trusted-from-the-ground-up and embedded security system to create secure enclaves that protect key business applications without compromising performance. Data stays on premises, while Skyport’s cloud-based management verifies and documents continuous enforcement. The system is inclusive of all necessary software and hardware which are continually verified throughout their existence.
The Skyport SkySecure solution consists of three main components: the SkySecure Compartment, which encloses application workloads, the SkySecure Server, which hosts multiple SkySecure Compartments, and the SkySecure Center, which verifies the application workloads, compartments, and servers. Diving into the details, the SkySecure Compartment employs locked-down firmware, signed immutable images, Intel® Trusted Execution Technology and the SkySecure I/O Controller, to enforce segmentation for every VM, enable wire speed network-flow policy and packet mirroring, and make evidentiary audit trails tamper-resistant. The SkySecure Compartment is a trusted computing platform with purpose-engineered hardware that facilitate a security layer wrapped around each individual VM. It controls workload identity, protocol, I/O, file system and identity management access via a per- workload security policy and continuously verifies hardware, firmware, BIOS, OS, and workloads. The SkySecure Center runs both compartments and servers as a privately-hosted fault-tolerant management system providing audit trails, real-time security policy monitoring, and full visibility into all system activities.
