Snyk has had a monumental year of growth in 2020. Following two rounds of funding the company is now valued at $2.6B with $350M of funding secured this year alone. Its annual recurring revenue grew 275% from 2018 to 2019 and is currently on track to be at about 200% this year. Snyk also grew its customer base to 600 with solid retention rates across the board, including adding notable innovators like J.P. Morgan, Salesforce, and Twilio to the roster.
Following the successful acquisition of AI company DeepCode in October, the company unveiled the industry’s first developer-first SAST (static application security testing) solution, Snyk Code, to complete its market-leading cloud native application security platform. Until recently, SAST tools have been difficult for developers to use, often taking hours or days to complete a vulnerability scan; providing high false positive rates; and requiring deep security knowledge to address the issues and fix them quickly.
