Overview

In the past year, WatchGuard Technologies has introduced new products for secure Wi-Fi and the fastest tabletop UTM in the industry, expanded to cover endpoint security and made network security data more visible and interactive. WatchGuard solutions empower users to identify, isolate, and resolve security issues quickly and easily and provide enterprise-level security to small and medium-sized businesses and distributed enterprises.

WatchGuard recently introduced Threat Detection and Response (TDR) – a new cloud-based subscription service added to WatchGuard’s Unified Threat Management (UTM) security suite this year. The solution uses ThreatSync, WatchGuard’s new cloud-based correlation and threat scoring engine, to improve security awareness and response across the network to the endpoint. ThreatSync collects event data from WatchGuard’s UTM appliance, WatchGuard’s endpoint Host Sensor and cloud threat intelligence feeds, and correlates this data to generate a comprehensive threat analysis based on severity. TDR integrates with WatchGuard APT Blocker’s powerful next-gen cloud sandboxing capabilities to extend analyses to individual devices outside of the network, consuming threat data directly from the endpoint. This solution not only decreases time-to-detection by enhancing visibility into various threats on both the network and endpoint, but also ultimately empowers confident response by generating a comprehensive threat score that helps to improve time to remediation.

WatchGuard also recently launched Wi-Fi Cloud, a secure, scalable and feature-rich Wi-Fi management platform and WIPS with the lowest false positive rate on the market today. It turns Wi-Fi hot spots into invaluable consumer research, analytics and push marketing tools, making fast, secure, and intelligent Wi-Fi accessible to organizations of all types and sizes.

WatchGuard’s ongoing initiatives to expand its portfolio include the recent acquisitions of Hawkeye G and Datablink, to incorporate the latest security offerings, such as threat detection and response capabilities and advanced authentication services.
