Virsec CEO Atiq Raza is a security technology visionary and serial entrepreneur who built and managed successful companies and led engineering teams for the past 32 years. He is a highly sought-after advisor and speaker at industry and business events around the world.

Atiq was previously chairman and CEO of NextGen, the first company to successfully challenge Intel in microprocessors. Following NextGen’s acquisition by AMD, he served as AMD’s president.

Prior to NexGen, Atiq held various management positions at VLSI, and was the president of Technology Centers. After his tenure at AMD, Atiq founded Raza Microelectronics Incorporated (RMI). RMI was acquired by NetLogic. NetLogic in turn was acquired by Broadcom on the strength of the RMI Processor. Atiq has been on the boards of several successful start-ups including Mellanox (now a public company), SiByte (acquired by Broadcom for $2.2 billion), Siara (acquired by Redback for $4 billion), VxTel (acquired by Intel for $500 million) and Magma (now a public company). He has several degrees, including honors degrees in physics, philosophy, electrical engineering and a Master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Stanford University. Atiq served on the Stanford University School of Engineering Advisory Board for eight years.
