Karl Van den Bergh is the Chief Marketing Officer of Gigamon. Prior to Gigamon, Karl was the Chief Marketing Officer at DataStax, where he helped grow the marketing team’s contribution to pipeline from 30% to over 50% in two years, and drove company revenues past $100M. Additionally, he held marketing leadership positions at companies within the cloud technology ecosystem, including TIBCO Software, Jaspersoft, Kickfire and more. He has also served on the boards of both the Zyalin Group and iKydz.
Accomplishments
1. Karl has played a key role on the Gigamon leadership team as he has worked across the industry to create a new market category, expanding the company’s leadership in the Deep Observability market. Karl has been focused on elevating Gigamon among industry competition, including helping the company achieve record growth (43% YoY) while maintaining 63% market share, according to a new report by 650 Group.
2. Ensuring the company’s voice remains genuine and authentic has always been a priority for Karl. He leads messaging for the brand and products at Gigamon, and is laser focused on connecting with customers in a truly authentic way. Under his direction, the company has focused on smaller customer events, expansion of customer advisory boards, and customer research reports that target customers’ specific needs. As a result, the company announced more than 100% YoY growth for Gigamon’s cloud business for 2023.
3. In 2023 under Karl’s direction, Gigamon launched Precryption™ technology educating the industry on a new way to manage encrypted traffic. This automated solution – for the first time – brings plaintext visibility to encrypted traffic, enabling IT and security professionals around the world to capture cloud traffic before encryption or after decryption. This industry-first technology gained impressive awareness and traction, including:
- Award recognition by the Top InfoSec Innovator Awards 6 weeks after launch.
- More than 65 articles globally highlighting key differentiators in business, tech, security and IT media.
- At launch, the new Precryption web pages commanded 5+ percent of web traffic for Gigamon, underscoring the tremendous interest in this new technology, and resulting in one-third of visitors to the Precryption landing page downloading more information, exceeding the team’s goals.
