About the Agentic AI Security category
What belongs in this category
The Agentic AI Security category covers securing AI agents, not agents used for security work. AI agents plan steps, call tools and change data on their own, so a mistake or a manipulated instruction can cause real damage. Typical entries watch what agents do as they run, restrict the tools, data and permissions each agent may use, detect agents that are hijacked or behaving oddly, and stop risky actions before they complete.
Setting policy and keeping an inventory of agents across the organization fits Agentic AI Governance, and identities and credentials for agents fit AI Agent Identity Security. Products that secure coding agents can also enter AI Coding Agent Security, and investigating and containing an agent after it has been hijacked fits AI Incident Detection and Response. AI agents built to oversee other agents fit Guardian Agents, and securing the Model Context Protocol (MCP) connections that link agents to tools fits MCP Security. Every agent security product is also eligible for Security for AI, as an extra entry.
Related categories to enter
Each category is judged separately, so you can enter a product in every category that matches what it does, with a separate nomination for each. Tailor each nomination to that category's focus. Entering several related categories gives the product more than one chance to be recognized.
How entries are judged
An independent jury of security practitioners, analysts and CISOs scores each nomination on leadership, innovation and impact. Each nomination competes in its category against organizations of similar size and region, so a mid-sized firm is not ranked against a global enterprise. Your entry package, any sponsorship and public votes do not affect the jury's scores.
Strong entries in this category show:
- Leadership — the agent deployments the product secures: agents and frameworks covered, actions monitored, and customers running agents in production with it.
- Innovation — an agent risk handled in a new way, such as stopping a harmful action mid-task, tracing a chain of agent calls back to its source, or limits that adjust to what an agent is doing.
- Impact — results for customers: risky agent actions blocked, excess agent permissions removed, agents moved from pilot to production under control. Give figures from customers.
The jury awards Gold, Silver or Bronze, or a Finalist badge, and results are published on this site and announced to the 600,000+ member Cybersecurity Insiders community. Every approved nomination also enters the separate Community Choice award, decided by public votes.
How to enter
A vendor can enter its own product or service, and a PR agency can enter it on a client's behalf. The nomination form has a confidential field for detail that is shared with the judges and not published, such as customer names, deployment figures or roadmap.
