Overview

2019 has been a blockbuster year for Bitglass. In April, the company secured $70 million in Series D funding from new investor Quadrille Capital and existing investors Future Fund, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Norwest, and Singtel Innov8. This infusion of capital enables Bitglass to continue its growth and leadership of the cloud access security broker (CASB) market. Bitglass has experienced rapid global expansion in its roster of customers and partners.

In July 2019, the company announced the opening of new offices in Canada and Japan, which follows previous pushes throughout the Americas, EMEA, ANZ, and other countries in the APAC region. Bitglass made strategic hires to support both new regions, and also strengthened its leadership team with a new vice president of worldwide channels and vice president of worldwide business development.

Bitglass has also earned prominent industry recognition as well as more than 10 different awards. For example, the company was named a Leader in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud Access Security Brokers, marking the second year in a row that the solution was awarded the designation of Leader. Other awards included the Network Products Guide’s 2019 IT World Awards and CRN’s Emerging Security Vendors to Know in 2019; Bitglass was also listed among the Hot 150 Cybersecurity Companies to Watch in 2020 (a list compiled by Cybersecurity Ventures).

Bitglass’ Next-Gen Cloud Security platform secures any SaaS app, custom app, or IaaS platform, and delivers granular data protection, zero-day threat protection, comprehensive visibility, and robust identity and access management. It boasts unique functionality such as patented file and field-level encryption that preserves search and sort, regional data sequestration, unmanaged app control, and agentless mobile security for BYOD.

How we are different

- Bitglass is the only CASB with a true hybrid architecture, ensuring complete coverage against the risk of data leakage as sensitive information moves beyond the corporate firewall. Bitglass’ leverages an agentless reverse proxy, which competitors have yet to achieve with the same reliability. This is because Bitglass has patented AJAX-VM, proprietary technology necessary to ensure robust reverse proxy functionality.
- Bitglass’ security capabilities (such as data loss prevention for data protection and comprehensive activity logs for visibility) can work across any app or workload. This provides a single pane of glass for enterprise IT departments trying to manage disjointed cloud services and security tools, saving both time and money while providing peace of mind that corporate data is protected.
- The Bitglass CASB enables IT departments to adopt cloud and BYOD by filling security and compliance gaps. This means organizations in heavily regulated industries – such as healthcare and financial services – can deploy the tools they need to remain competitive.
