How winners are chosen
- Independent judgesEvery nomination is reviewed by independent judges: cybersecurity practitioners, analysts and CISOs. They look for leadership, innovation and impact.
- A fair comparisonTo keep the comparison fair, each category is split into peer groups by company size and region. A startup is compared with other startups, not with a global vendor. Each peer group can have its own winner. This is why a category can have more than one winner.
- Chosen on meritJury award winners are chosen on merit. The fee paid and the number of votes do not influence the judges. Community Choice winners are chosen by public votes.

Nominations for the 2027 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards are open. The jury award winners are announced in the week of March 22, 2027. The Community Choice winners follow in mid-July 2027.
