Bonnie is renowned champion for women in the security and resilience profession and some recent examples of her achievements in this area are as follows:
She continues to be deeply involved in helping to develop and connect women in security and resilience groups internationally, including through the Women in Security and Resilience Alliance (WISECRA) – a sub-network of the SPF breaking down silos and enhancing information sharing among women in security internationally. WISECRA has assisted in recognizing women within a sector in which they are under-represented and has assisted in the creation and development of new women in security associations in countries and regions where no such groups previously existed, such as Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Turkey, Philippines, Spain, Israel, and the Balkan region.
Bonnie has contributed significantly to the WISECRA Women in Security and Cybersecurity Awards, internationally, in partnership with women in security groups and media partners on the ground in Canada, Latin America, Africa, India, the ASEAN region, and New Zealand, for example.
Bonnie has also been involved in other women in security events globally, in addition to the SPF Women in Security events that were very successful in Canada, prior to the initiatives going global.
