Overview

Corey Nachreiner has spent nearly two decades working on the frontlines of cyber security, in many different roles at WatchGuard Technologies. In his current role as CTO, Nachreiner has been the company’s main security evangelist, and his vision has had a strong influence on the company’s security strategy and technology portfolio, helping introduce new revenue producing products and services to partners and customers. Nachreiner has driven technology acquisitions like Hexis HawkEye G and Datablink, expanding WatchGuard’s security portfolio with the latest security offerings, such as threat detection and response capabilities and next-generation authentication services.

Beyond his responsibilities as CTO, Nachreiner devotes a tremendous amount of time to mentoring countless internal security professionals, and has helped shape a culture of collaboration and team learning at WatchGuard. He has also been incredibly invested in educating the public about cybersecurity. Nachreiner is regularly featured on Pacific Northwest news stations explaining cybersecurity issues like political hacking and ransomware attacks, providing clarity and actionable advice to the public. He is the co-author of WatchGuard’s Quarterly Internet Security Report (http://www.watchguard.com/wgrd-resource-center/security-report), which analyzes the latest security threats and trends each quarter. He’s been quoted in countless tech and security publications such as CSO, Network World, SC Magazine, CRN, CIO, Computerworld, ITworld, SecurityWeek and more, and is well-known for using pop culture as a tool to educate readers about cybersecurity, with regular columns about the hit USA Network show ‘Mr. Robot,’ and others.
