Erkang Zheng pioneered a new market innovating with a new approach to security. He has developed the leading cyber asset management and governance solution, JupiterOne, which has raised 49M since July 2020. Revenue tripled within seven months and is on pace to triple again in 2021. Additionally the headcount has doubled in the last six months and will triple again in 2021. This year, Gartner validated the importance of what Erkang built. Gartner recognized JupiterOne as a Sample Vendor for Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management (CAASM) in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Network Security. A CAASM capability enables organizations to see all internal and external assets, through API integrations with existing tools, query against the consolidated data, identify the scope of vulnerabilities and gaps in security controls, and remediate issues.

The value of the platform was further justified this past year when Uber’s CISO, Latha Maripuri joined the board of directors and Souni Yu, the creator of the Cyber Defense Matrix and former Chief Security Scientist at Bank of America joined as the CISO of JupiterOne. The platform works by creating a contextual knowledge base using graphs and relationships as the single source of truth for an organization’s cyber asset operations. With JupiterOne, teams can discover, monitor, understand, and act on changes in their digital environments. Cloud resources, ephemeral devices, identities, access rights, code, pull requests, and much more are collected, graphed, and monitored automatically.
