John DeSimone, CEO of Nightwing, has shown remarkable leadership in the cybersecurity field, guiding the company through a transformative period. Even before Nightwing’s’ divestiture from its parent company in 2024, John played a key role in strengthening the business’s position as a leader in the cybersecurity industry. His strategic vision and commitment to innovation continues today at Nightwing, addressing the evolving challenges of cybersecurity threats and the development of cybersecurity talent.

Prior to Nightwing, John served as President of Cybersecurity, Intelligence and Services (CIS) at Raytheon, an RTX Business, and led all aspects of strategy and operations. Backed by more than 40 years of experience in the IT and cybersecurity industry, his team specialized in providing some of the world’s most technically advanced full-spectrum cyber, data operations, systems integration, and intelligence mission support services to the U.S. government. He led the transformation of CIS’s cyber portfolio, delivering solutions that provided cybersecurity for government agencies, businesses, and organizations to protect critical information, systems, and operations with breakthrough solutions.

Before joining Raytheon in 2016, John served as an Executive Vice President of delivery and operations at CSRA Inc. He also served as Vice President and general manager of Computer Sciences Corporation’s North American Public Sector Enterprise Services group, where he led the strategic direction, planning and execution of the group’s growth and development initiatives, driving and delivering next-generation technology solutions for customers across the portfolio. He has held executive roles at IBM and at Northrop Grumman. John also held a leadership position at Motorola, Inc. as the head of its public safety software business.

John earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Columbia University in New York and attended the Motorola Chairman’s Leadership Institute at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
