Overview
John-Thomas (JT) Gaietto, Digital Silence’s Chief Security Officer, has been in the cybersecurity community for more than 25 years. He is an MPA certified TPN site security assessor, CISSP, a certified forensics examiner (ISFCE), contributor of the CDSA App and Cloud framework, Credit Union Board of Director, and has earned a Defcon black badge.
His career has spanned a wide array of cybersecurity roles, with extensive experience in the financial services industry.
Having been a consultant and a client, JT brings a unique perspective to his clients. As an experienced professional knows the importance of a strong cybersecurity posture, and as a former client he knows the frustration of receiving a vulnerability report without any context or direction for remediation. His work at Digital Silence helps remove that frustration from his clients.
He collaborates with leaders on the IT and business side to help everyone understand the threat landscape, align security priorities with business goals, and maintain an eye on ever-increasing regulatory compliance.
Beyond his credentials, JT is simply passionate about cybersecurity. In addition to providing crucial guidance to his clients, JT speaks at conferences across multiple industries, helping leaders understand how today’s cybersecurity landscape impacts their businesses.
Accomplishments
- In addition to his passion for Cybersecurity, his goal is to ensure that clients understand how cybersecurity can help enable the business to grow and not simply be a cost center.
- JT stands out as a “unicorn” having a combination of deep technical, broad executive, and board-level experience. This enables him to speak across an organization and helps his clients understand what is important and how to move the needle.
- Lastly, JT constantly is looking for ways to give back to the community at large. In addition to his day job and board position, he frequently volunteers for cybersecurity events and research and is an avid Boy Scout volunteer helping youth learn and grow with a few making their way to the rank of Eagle.
