Overview

Karan Dwivedi is a recognized security expert who has significantly advanced the field and inspired and mentored individuals, communities and businesses to grow and be safe online. Mr Dwivedi has led large scale security projects at Google and Yahoo in the US to safeguard products such as Google Search, Google Assistant, Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Finance, Flickr etc to safeguard over a billion users. At Yahoo he was part of the security team that responded to the world’s largest data breach in history. Mr Dwivedi has contributed to building the latest version of Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) 4.0, the internet standard for scoring vulnerabilities in the industry. Mr Dwivedi has been interviewed by major media in security e.g. he shared insights with Hakin9 magazine which is one of the largest IT security magazines in the world. He was also interviewed by Forensic Focus News and Media in 2022 where he provided his thoughts on how digital forensics has evolved in the last decade. Mr Dwivedi contributed as a subject matter expert in the new Google Cybersecurity Certificate program which was launched in May 2023. The course has already had an enrollment of over 41,577 just days after launch and was widely covered in major media such as the Wall Street Journal, TechRepublic, Security Week, SC Magazine and so on. Furthermore, Mr Dwivedi has been consulted on the go to market strategy for budding Indian security startups like SecOps Solutions based in Bangalore. Mr Dwivedi currently serves on the editorial board of several international journals and peer reviewed publications in cybersecurity e.g. Forensic Science International: Digital Investigation (FSI:DI), International Journal of Electronic Security and Digital Forensics (IJESDF) etc. He holds a master’s degree in Information Security from Carnegie Mellon University, USA.
