Overview

Kevin Lynch is a seasoned executive with more than 36 years of strategic and operating experience, largely in professional and technical services, operating at scale within private and public environments, with a proven track record of delivering growth and exceptional financial returns.

As Optiv’s CEO and board director, Lynch is responsible for executing the company’s vision to challenge the status quo by delivering innovative cybersecurity solutions that create simplicity and confidence for clients around the world.

Lynch joined Optiv from Deloitte, where he served in a variety of leadership roles for 20 years, including: chief global officer, overseeing $1.2B of annual investment and optimizing the U.S. partnership’s global interests; leading and doubling the scale of the firm’s technology, media and telecommunications industry practice; revolutionizing the firm’s strategy practice to compete and take substantial share from deeply entrenched incumbents; and as senior partner, re-architecting and substantially growing the firm’s M&A services revenue, serving many of the firm’s largest clients as an overall advisory partner in the technology infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity and computing segments.

Prior to Deloitte, Lynch was chief strategy officer at AECOM, a Fortune 150 global engineering and construction services firm, where he was tasked with driving growth across the company’s portfolio. Lynch was also a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, focused on the intersection of strategy and technology.

Lynch also serves as an advisory board member for Ten Eleven Ventures.

Lynch received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Southern California and an MBA with honors from the University of Washington.

Accomplishments

• Commitment to Optiv Employees: Optiv had 1,600 employees when Lynch joined, and he’s grown that number to more than 2,500. He’s done this by creating a culture that believes in the power of the people at Optiv, which has made the company a premier destination for cybersecurity talent.

Lynch inspires employees to take their careers to new heights and make a lasting difference for clients. Additionally, he is an advocate for DEI as one mechanism to drive a strong culture and leadership team. This includes diversity among Optiv’s entire workforce — form the board of directors to entry-level employees.

• Influence on Cybersecurity: Lynch is a trusted leader in the cybersecurity industry, and he uses this position to influence the industry for good. Optiv is the world’s largest convener of security technology companies, and Lynch sits at the center – building strong relationships with peers, partners and customers.

Lynch serves as an advisory board member for Ten Eleven Ventures and has enjoyed a long career as a board-level advisor with a wide array of public and private organizations on subjects like capital allocation and strategic choices. Lynch is also a member of The Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council, the Forbes Technology Council, CNBC’s CEO Council and is a regular lecturer on the topics of growth, strategy and cybersecurity.

• Impact on Customers: Realizing vendors’ business models often address only a singular functional issue, which unintentionally fuels a fragmented cybersecurity landscape, Lynch took a different approach. He transformed Optiv into the cyber advisory and solutions leader. Today, under Lynch’s guidance, Optiv helps hundreds of customers across industries understand the threat landscape, what matters most to their organization and the solutions available to manage cyber risk and build cyber resilience. With Optiv, companies can realize their full potential.
