Nima Baiati is the global executive leading Lenovo’s cybersecurity portfolio and solutions (Lenovo ThinkShield). In his role, he has P&L responsibility for Lenovo’s security solutions and services business as well as leading security innovation on platform security (below-OS) and AI Security. In 2023, he established Lenovo’s first Cybersecurity Innovation Centre based in Israel.

Prior to joining Lenovo, Nima led product management and corporate development for a leading security company where he successfully brought to market several new products to create new recurring-revenue opportunities, as well as extensive work in corporate development. Nima also led the global go-to-market strategy organization for enterprise security at Symantec. He has worked in several Silicon Valley start-ups in product and enterprise sales roles.

Nima began his career in finance at Morgan Stanley. He is actively involved in advising numerous venture capital firms and start-ups both in Silicon Valley and in Israel. Nima earned his B.Sc. from the University of San Francisco and his M.B.A from Cornell University, where he was a Fellow of the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He has completed advanced coursework in AI Solutions and Services Development from MIT, Digital Transformation from Cambridge University, and Corporate Finance from Harvard Business School.

He holds numerous certifications ranging from Certified Ethical Hacker, CISM, AWS, CIPP/E-GDPR, and Cloud Security. Most recently, he is the recipient of the 2023 Fortress Cyber Security Award for Leadership and the 2023 SC Awards for Security Innovator of the Year. Nima sits on the Board of Directors for the FIDO Alliance, serves as a member of the European Internet Forum, and is engaged in several philanthropic ventures.

Accomplishments

Nima Baiati stands out as an exceptional candidate for the Cybersecurity Executive of the Year award. At Lenovo, he built the cybersecurity portfolio and established the first Lenovo Cybersecurity Innovation Center to become a hub for developing cutting-edge security technologies. Baiati also established a strategic partnership with SentinelOne, one of the top AI cybersecurity vendors in the market, to create some of the most secure AI PCs with Lenovo. This partnership underscores Baiati's commitment to integrating advanced AI-driven security measures into Lenovo’s products, ensuring robust protection for users.


Furthermore, Baiati developed new Lenovo IP solutions for Firmware Security and Supply Chain Security. These market-first solutions address critical challenges in cybersecurity today and reinforce Lenovo's leadership in the industry.


In addition to these achievements, Baiati introduced cybersecurity subscription models and cybersecurity SMB bundles. These initiatives have been a significant support for small and medium-sized businesses, helping them cut costs and making cybersecurity more accessible. By providing affordable and scalable security solutions, Baiati has empowered SMBs to protect their digital assets effectively.


Under Baiati's leadership, the cybersecurity department experienced significant growth, expanding into multiple geographies. This demonstrates his ability to scale and adapt strategies to diverse markets and threats.


Through his work at the Cybersecurity Innovation Center and his commitment to making cybersecurity accessible, Nima Baiati has ensured that Lenovo stays ahead of the curve in cybersecurity advancements. The center’s contributions have not only strengthened Lenovo's security posture but also provided valuable insights and technologies to the broader cybersecurity community.
