She is a leading author with several published research papers, book chapters and scholarly articles. She is board member – Director of Cyber Wyoming helping small businesses implement security controls to protect their customers. She is a committee member of the WiCyS conference 2024. Elevating her career trajectory, Prathibha worked for HP Inc., Fort Collins, Colorado, as an Information System Architect. Here, she performed infrastructure security architecture reviews, assessed web applications for vulnerabilities, and led the cybersecurity efforts to pentest the entire HP Enterprise Printer cloud platform and its services.
As a Manager for Security Architecture, she has created, automated and optimized process flows for security architecture review, pentesting and vulnerability disclosure programs. She has defined security architecture policies that is adhered to by the entire organization of 50,000 employees. She leads a dynamic team that performs security reviews to ensure security standards are met by the SBD products manufactured. Her proactive approach to building and managing security processes, coupled with her technical acumen in conducting security assessments, threat modeling, and penetration testing, has significantly enhanced the company’s cybersecurity posture.
Refusing to allow gender stereotypes to dictate her path, Prathibha not only overcame challenges that came her way but emerged stronger and more resilient.

Accomplishments

1) Prathibha has found innovative strategies to automate and optimize security programs like security architecture reviews, pentesting, cloud security, and vulnerability disclosure programs. Through new strategies, she was able to reduce the time spent on each review and was able to reduce the queue wait time from 6 months to 0 days. The security program productivity was increased by 98%. Thus through innovative strategies, she was able to optimize several cybersecurity programs.


2) She is a leading author is the cyber security space. Here are some of her invaluable published work -
● A chapter in an IGI Global published in a book on “Analysing and Mitigating Security Risks in Cloud Computing,” focusing on Threat Modeling and Risk Analysis for Cloud Deployments.
● Article published in ScienceDirect KeAi – Elsevier, exploring the vulnerabilities of Bluetooth devices and strategies for mitigation.
● Contribution to the ISSA Journal with an article titled “Mobile Application Security: Risk and Remediation,” addressing prevalent security risks in mobile applications.
