NOMINATION HIGHLIGHTS
I am a cybersecurity leader with 16 years of experience, specializing in application security at scale. Currently, I lead security efforts at Meta, where my work directly protects billions of people using WhatsApp and other Meta products every day. My focus is on building secure-by-default frameworks and scalable AI security solutions that make it easier for developers to do the right thing—embedding security and privacy into the products people rely on to stay connected, communicate, and share their lives.
Over the years, I’ve led end-to-end security initiatives that not only reduce risk but also enable product innovation at scale. One of my proudest contributions has been securing Meta’s Account Center, a platform that connects and manages user identity and privacy settings across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. I took ownership of this project through design reviews, threat modeling, and launch-blocking security fixes, ensuring it met the highest security standards before release. My work helps ensure that billions of people can trust that their data is safe.
Before Meta, I served as a Product Security Leader at Philips, where I secured healthcare products and platforms that impacted patients’ lives around the world. I’ve also worked as a full-stack developer earlier in my career, which gives me a deep technical understanding and allows me to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
Beyond my technical contributions, I am passionate about mentoring and advancing diversity in cybersecurity. I’ve been recognized with the Women in Cybersecurity award, Meta’s Women in Security Spotlight Shoutout, and have served as a judge for the Globee Awards.
I am driven by the belief that security should empower people—not limit them—and I am proud to help shape the future of secure applications that impact the world at scale.
Accomplishments
Global Impact at Scale: I lead security initiatives at Meta that protect the privacy and safety of over 3 billion people worldwide across WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. My work ensures secure-by-default experiences, embedding robust security into products that billions rely on daily for communication and connection.
Driving Scalable Security Innovation using AI: By incorporating AI into code suggestions and framework adoption, I have significantly enhanced the detection of security vulnerabilities and helped developers integrate secure coding practices earlier in the development lifecycle, improving efficiency and security outcomes.
Recognized Leadership & Mentorship in Cybersecurity: Beyond technical achievements, I am a recognized leader and mentor. I’ve been honored with Meta’s Women in Security Spotlight Shoutout and the Women in Cybersecurity award. I actively champion diversity in cybersecurity and contribute as a judge for prestigious industry awards (globee BIntelligence), helping shape the future of our field.
