1. Shane has served as the President and CEO at Gigamon for two years expanding the company’s business and markets worldwide as it has expanded to cloud security offerings. Shane’s experience in creating new market categories, such as the creation of the wide-area network (WAN) optimization category, is invaluable as Gigamon pioneers and now expands the deep observability market. Under his leadership, the team developed the Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline which harnesses actionable network-level intelligence to amplify the power of cloud, security and observability tools, bringing unprecedented levels of visibility to hybrid cloud infrastructure. In just two years, Shane has overseen the delivery of award-winning technology that not only meets but exceeds the company’s performance goals, including 100% YoY cloud revenue growth.
2. Meeting the needs of customers who cited encryption as a key concern amid expanding cloud adoption, Shane led Gigamon to develop Gigamon Precryption™ technology in 2023, which enables plain-text visibility to encrypted traffic (where 93% of malware hides). This innovative, first-of-its-kind technology, is critical amid the rise of adversarial AI and increasing prevalence of living off the land attacks where threat actors traverse the network for extended periods of time waiting for opportune moments to attack. Precryption technology reveals previously concealed threat activity, including lateral movement, malware distribution, and data exfiltration, eliminating the need to use cumbersome decryption methods that require managing and maintaining decryption keys.
3. Shane’s top priority for 2024 is to help the world’s hard-working cybersecurity professionals improve security while reducing cost, especially amid slowing cybersecurity spending, which experienced a 65% drop in 2023. He is determined to evangelize Gigamon as the foundation for ‘Do it once, do it right’ as the precursor to ‘you can’t secure what you can’t see'.
