Shane has served as the President and CEO at Gigamon for three years, expanding the company’s business and markets worldwide. Shane’s experience in creating new market categories is invaluable as Gigamon now expands the deep observability market. Under his leadership, the team developed the Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline, harnessing actionable network-level intelligence to amplify the power of cloud, security, and observability tools. He also led the Gigamon Power of 3 initiatives in 2024, bringing together Gigamon, a Gigamon channel partner, and a leading networking, security, or observability technology alliance partner. These partnerships provide customers with access to technology integrations and support that will help manage solutions more efficiently.

Meeting the needs of customers who cited hidden threats in encrypted traffic as a key concern amid expanding cloud adoption, Shane led Gigamon to develop Gigamon Precryption™ technology and most recently added a new “Selective Precryption” feature to the technology. This innovative, first-of-its-kind technology is critical amid the rise of adversarial AI and the increasing prevalence of living off-the-land attacks where threat actors traverse the network for extended periods of time waiting for opportune moments to attack. Precryption reveals previously concealed threat activity, including lateral movement, malware distribution, and data exfiltration, eliminating the need to use cumbersome decryption methods that require managing and maintaining decryption keys.

Shane's top priority for 2025 is addressing the growing cybersecurity threat posed by AI—specifically, the challenge of maintaining visibility across complex hybrid cloud infrastructure. Today’s organizations leverage public and private clouds , and are embracing emerging AI technologies.. However, for open-source platforms andLLMs to function effectively, they depend on vast datasets collected from diverse endpoints, adding more complexity to already complex networks. With adversarial AI on the rise, the cybersecurity risks have escalated dramatically, making the need for deep observability across the entire infrastructure critical.
