NOMINATION HIGHLIGHTS

In a period where geopolitical conflict has repeatedly raised the global cyber threat level—prompting “Shields Up” guidance for organizations to harden defenses and protect critical services—Siva Desetti led a transformational, identity-first cybersecurity strategy that strengthened resilience at true enterprise scale.

Siva’s strategy protected an ecosystem supporting ~80k plus workforce users and enabling access for millions of customer identities, where uptime, safety, and trust are non-negotiable. His defining impact was eliminating systemic legacy risk: 100+ applications were tied to on-premises access solutions with heavy infrastructure dependency and inconsistent control enforcement. Siva built the modernization roadmap and drove execution to migrate these applications to a cloud identity security model, standardizing security patterns, increasing reliability, and reducing operational fragility.

With identity positioned as the primary control plane, Siva accelerated adoption of SSO + Adaptive MFA, producing a significant increase in MFA coverage and materially strengthening application security against credential attacks—an approach aligned with “Shields Up” emphasis on heightened vigilance and stronger authentication for critical assets. He also led a targeted rollout of YubiKeys for higher-risk populations, elevating assurance and reducing phishing exposure where it mattered most.

Siva ensured the strategy worked not only for “standard” apps but also for complex internal platforms. He led his team to build custom connectors that automated user provisioning from Identity Cloud into home-grown applications hosted on AWS, tightening joiner/mover/leaver governance and reducing manual error.

Finally, as part of Merger and Acquisition integration, Siva led consolidation of multiple privileged access management (PAM) solutions into a single PAM platform, reducing tool sprawl, standardizing privileged controls, and improving auditability and operational consistency—exactly the kind of durable posture organizations need during heightened threat conditions.

This was not incremental security improvement. It was strategic, measurable transformation: fewer legacy dependencies, stronger authentication coverage, unified privileged controls, and scalable automation—delivered through influence, clarity, and execution.
