NOMINATION HIGHLIGHTS
Tom Limber is an IT Security Specialist at Brooks Rehabilitation. There he employs over 10 years’ experience in IT Security. Tom started his professional career as a Cisco Network Engineer at Walt Disney World where he maintained network infrastructure and resolved issues in a 24/7 operated environment. This technical position included enterprise routing and switching, firewall configurations, and creating advanced network topology designs. This experience allowed Tom to obtain his Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) designation.
After his contract with Disney ended, Tom started at ING in the Security Operations Center (SOC) where he worked in a 24/7 operated center. Tom monitored over half a billion events day and night with ArcSight, and obtained experience with applications that assist in detection of malicious attacks such as botnets, malware, and many other viral variants. He also obtained experience in content creation, which is a way to filter the massive amount of network traffic and look for anomalies. During this time, Tom completed his M.S. degree in Information Assurance and wrote his thesis on International Computer Security Incident Response, and is presently completing courses to earn a Ph.D. in Information Technology.
In the course of his professional career Tom has earned the following career certifications: CISSP, CISA, CCNA, CCNP, ITILv3, JNCIA-JUNOS, MCP, GIAC, CCSA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CEH, CHFI, and is certified with the National Security Agency INFOSEC Certified NSTISSI No. 4011 and 4012.
Accomplishments
Tom is an expert in his field, and worked very hard to achieve this goal. We want him to achieve an award in IT Security.
Tom has obtained numerous certifications in his field and has helped others achieve this same goal by training on a daily basis.
Tom always looks out for his team, and cares about others security.
