Approximate number of users worldwideWe craft right-sized embedded security solutions for hundreds of clients' medical devices. Due to the long development lead times needed for medical device testing and approval, many are not yet commercially available. Ultimately, the number of potential users our cybersecurity work helps protect is in the millions.

In 3 bullets, summarize why this company is different from the competition and deserves recognition:

* Our embedded cybersecurity experts have spent decades helping clients designing secure systems that meet FDA and global markets’ cybersecurity regulations. In 2020, we literally wrote the book on medical device cybersecurity (Medical Device Cybersecurity for Engineers and Manufacturers, Artech House, Aug. 31, 2020. ISBN: 9781630818159).

* Velentium's 3 Values (Honorable, Results++, and Humble Charisma) guide everything that we do. Honorable: We make decisions based on what’s right and wrong, not based on profit. We do everything in our power to treat customers, partners, and suppliers like we would like to be treated. Results++: It isn't enough to be average, to only "do the job." Our staff take pride in delighting clients. We aren't interested in doing just one project per client. We’re interested in relationships that span decades. Humble Charisma: Some charismatic people never stop talking about their passions. Some humble people never attract attention. We strive for balance between the two. At the end of an engagement, we want clients like our staff for who they are, not just what they have accomplished.

* We're not keeping our know-how a secret. Velentium exists to change lives for a better world. To further that goal, we launched an Embedded Cybersecurity Training & Certification program ( so we can teach others how to do what we do.

Brief Overview

We perform design vulnerability analyses and craft right-sized embedded security solutions for medical devices. We also assist with “secure by design” documentation required by the FDA and other regulators, and advise and guide medical device manufacturers through the cybersecurity aspects of the approval process.

We help our clients avoid, prevent, and mitigate design, implementation, and third-party software component vulnerabilities in medical devices under development, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that these life-saving and life-changing devices will be able to perform as intended during healthcare delivery. We safeguard not just the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of these devices, but the business interests of the companies bringing them to market, so that they can continue their good work on behalf of patients and healthcare providers.
