Overview
Lina’s first introduction to tech was at age 7, a Nintendo GameBoy & Watch called Oil Panic. In 1985 at the age of 9, when other kids played with toys, Lina began coding in BASIC on a Sinclair QL. She has 33 years experience in computing from Sinclair QL & Commodore 64 in the ‘1980s to the latest Lenovo Legion in 2018. Throughout the years, Lina has dabbled in web development, hosting, games development, mobile apps programming, augmented reality, virtual reality and DIY drones.
She became interested in Cyber Security in 2009 after some of her sites were hacked. Obtained a CEH and ECSA in 2011. Later became a Certified Cyber First Responder (CFR-210) in 2017 and got an ISMS (27001-2013) Auditor cert in November 2018.
Lina is also active in the local Cyber Security and Programming scene. She successfully coordinated and managed RawSEC MiniConf 2018 event with 225 attendees and 6 main speakers re: cyber security trends, threats, technology and insights on Cyber Security and Industrial Revolution 4.0.
She is an exco member of RawSEC and exco member of StartUp & Developers Group Malaysia. Active member of OWASP Malaysian Chapter, ISACA, JomWeb Programmer’s group and Malaysia Open Source Community (MOSC), Python Group Malaysia and other IT groups.
Accomplishments
Lina has a solid 33 years of IT and 9 years experience in Cyber Security and have worked across myriads of projects for Corporate Organizations and Government agencies on security consulting, cyber security framework, cybersecurity national policies and plans, digital forensics, incident response, Penetration testing, security audits, threat intelligence ....
Lina has reviewed and advised policies and procedures on cloud security and biometric card reader for a government agency. She has also reviewed and advised on syllabus for cloud security auditor role. She has advised on the conception and deployment of cyber security infrastructure for higher education during the Focus Group Dialogue on Cyber Security by the Local Government.
