About the Cyber Resilience category
What belongs in this category
The Cyber Resilience category covers products built around one outcome: keeping the business running when an attack gets through. Typical entries combine protection, detection and recovery, for example platforms that pair threat detection with backups attackers cannot change and automated recovery. Others run recovery tests and rehearsals, map critical business services to the systems they need, and restore those services in the right order. Breach protection products, whose own category was retired, can enter here or Threat Detection and Response.
This is the broad resilience category. A specialist product starts in its own category, such as Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery (BCDR) for backup and disaster recovery, Ransomware Protection for stopping ransomware or Ransomware Recovery for recovering from it. Any of these can also enter Cyber Resilience. Resilience delivered as advice and support fits Cyber Resilience Services, and exercises that test how people respond fit Cyber Readiness and Validation.
Related categories to enter
Each category is judged separately, so you can enter a product in every category that matches what it does, with a separate nomination for each. Tailor each nomination to that category's focus. Entering several related categories gives the product more than one chance to be recognized.
How entries are judged
An independent jury of security practitioners, analysts and CISOs scores each nomination on leadership, innovation and impact. Each nomination competes in its category against organizations of similar size and region, so a mid-sized firm is not ranked against a global enterprise. Your entry package, any sponsorship and public votes do not affect the jury's scores.
Strong entries in this category show:
- Leadership — the operations the product keeps running: systems and data protected, critical services mapped, and customers in sectors where downtime is costly.
- Innovation — a resilience problem solved in a new way, such as recovery tested automatically, a clean environment restored in hours, or a map of the business services an attack would stop.
- Impact — results for customers: recovery time cut after incidents or tests, less data lost, downtime avoided, more recovery tests passed. Give before-and-after figures.
The jury awards Gold, Silver or Bronze, or a Finalist badge, and results are published on this site and announced to the 600,000+ member Cybersecurity Insiders community. Every approved nomination also enters the separate Community Choice award, decided by public votes.
How to enter
A vendor can enter its own product or service, and a PR agency can enter it on a client's behalf. The nomination form has a confidential field for detail that is shared with the judges and not published, such as customer names, deployment figures or roadmap.
