Award categoryCybersecurity Product / Service
This Cybersecurity Excellence Awards category covers tools and services for investigating security threats and incidents. New nominations in this area are entered in Security Operations or Digital Forensics.
The Security Investigation category covers tools and services that help teams find out what happened and who is behind it. It includes investigation platforms, research into the servers and domains attackers use, tools that scan devices and removable media, and due-diligence investigations of partners, suppliers and investment targets.
Past recipients are listed by year on the Winners page.
Investigation platforms used by the security team are entered in Security Operations, and collecting and analyzing evidence fits Digital Forensics. Research into attackers and their infrastructure can also enter Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI).
The categories below cover this area. Each is judged separately, so a nominee can enter every one that fits, with a separate nomination for each.
Nominations in the categories above are scored by an independent jury of security practitioners, analysts and CISOs on leadership, innovation and impact. Each competes against organizations of similar size and region. Entry packages, sponsorship and public votes do not affect the jury's scores.
The jury awards Gold, Silver or Bronze, or a Finalist badge, and results are published on this site and announced to the 600,000+ member Cybersecurity Insiders community. Every approved nomination also enters the separate Community Choice award, decided by public votes.
New nominations in this area are entered in Security Operations or Digital Forensics. Anyone can submit a nomination, including the nominee or an agency acting for a client, and the nomination form has a confidential field for detail that is shared with the judges and not published. Deadlines, pricing and entry steps are on the How it Works page.
