John is ShorePoint’s Director of Recruiting and Retention and is a key member of the Executive Team. Since joining ShorePoint in 2019, John has made significant impacts to the Company’s growth by consistently recruiting the best and brightest cybersecurity professionals. He takes the time to understand ShorePoint’s programs, requirements, and pain points to ensure that he makes the most appropriate staffing recommendation not only for the company, but for the individual as well. As a result, candidates are hired into positions where they will be best in a position to excel technically, professionally, and personally. This leads to above-industry retention rates for the company, and career satisfaction for our employees, which is especially outstanding through shifting employment landscapes due to the pandemic.

John has leveraged his 15 years of recruiting experience to create a recruiting process at ShorePoint that reflects our corporate values of Trust, Integrity, Commitment, Creditability, and Success. He is genuine and passionate, traits that resonate and create a lasting effect to candidates from their very first interaction. He creates and maintains relationships that last far past the recruiting cycle and extend to regular current-employee check-ins that maintain and shape the culture that the employees continue to rave about. John’s engaging style and leadership in both recruiting and retention have contributed greatly to the company’s ability to be certified as a “Great Place to Work” for 4 straight years based entirely on employee survey data. His leadership of recruiting and retention has also been a significant contributor to ShorePoint’s ranking as one of the Fastest Growing companies in the DC area (Washington Business Journal’s Fast 50) for the last 2 years.

With John’s guidance and dedication, ShorePoint has grown from a company of 15 at the time of his hire to over 100 employees while maintaining above-average retention rates. This is a remarkable growth and retention pattern in consideration of the well-documented talent shortage in the cybersecurity industry.

John has established a culture of relationship-building with our candidates that remains in place throughout employment. He routinely meets with employees outside of standard work hours to facilitate the continued personal connection that he forges during the employment process, ensuring the employee always has an additional line of direct communication to the Executive Team outside of their traditional management chain. As ShorePoint has grown, he has brought on additional recruiters to support his team who share the same mindset, representing our Company culture from day one.
