Overview

Founded in 2004, Madison Alexander PR is a boutique, cybersecurity, full-service communications agency headquartered in Southern California with professionals based in Orange County, Riverside County, Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, Southern Florida, and Boston. The agency focuses on B2B and B2C technology from the enterprise to the SMB in a variety of vertical markets, including banking/financial services, healthcare, government, higher education, and business.

MAPR was one of the first to implement the “Virtual Agency” model that builds teams based on talent available to handle a client’s specific needs. The agency prides itself
on working with experienced technology industry veterans and has no junior employees. MAPR uses a flexible team approach instead of the traditional account manager structure. Any member of the team can offer strategic counsel, tactical response, writing, pitching, media relations and social media. We believe our combination of skills, experience, work ethic, results-driven strategies and programs sets us apart from competitors.

While strategic counsel is a must for any agency, MAPR is exceptional when it comes to rolling up their sleeves and executing tactical PR; the team is very strong when it comes to media pitching, and they work rigorously to keep every promise made to a reporter or analyst. Reputations matter, and MAPR works diligently to secure a solid reputation for ethics and integrity with the press/analyst community. Without it, they wouldn’t be effective. MAPR builds teams with their clients, they don’t play politics, and they believe that a rising tide lifts all boats. Success cannot happen without the support and trust of the clientele, and MAPR prides itself on those relationships.

The agency represents mostly cybersecurity clients in the North American market, and have also represented clients currently headquartered in Belgium, Russia, Hong
Kong, Hungary, England, Switzerland, Germany, Israel, New Zealand, Sweden, Panama, India and Singapore.

How we are different

** MAPR was one of the first to implement the “Virtual Agency” model that builds teams based on talent available to handle a client’s specific needs, and has seen loads of success using this model, from teams of 2 to teams of 5 or more. The agency prides itself on working with experienced technology industry veterans, has no junior employees and uses a flexible team approach instead of the traditional account manager structure; any member of the team can offer strategic counsel, tactical response, writing, pitching, media relations and social media. This combination of skills, experience, work ethic, results-driven strategies and programs set MAPR apart from the competition.

** Decades of newsroom experience sets the Madison Alexander PR team apart from the competition as well, not only by having built strong, long-time relationships with journalists and editors, but also by having a better understanding of how journalists operate, including being able to anticipate and accommodate to their needs, craft more compelling pitches, and strategically position clients in order to capture the attention of the most appropriate media and build credibility and thought-leadership within the editorial community.

** Here’s a good example of how MAPR handles last-minute, on-site fire-drills: the agency quelled a direct competitive attack on one of its clients at RSA with an announcement challenging a critic to a bake-off of an AI-based pen-testing platform versus a manual approach with the victor winning a Starbucks coffee. The announcement was done with respect and humor, and was called “a master class in PR” by a noted industry expert. It resulted in conversations, education and tons of positive coverage – for both the client and the industry.
