NOMINATION HIGHLIGHTS
As quantum computing advances, today’s traditional cryptographic methods to protect data and systems will no longer provide long term security. This risk is driving governments and regulatory industries to accelerate the adoption of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards, like CNSA 2.0 and NIST’s FIPS 203/204, to safeguard critical infrastructure and ensure compliance.
Organizations that operate long lifecycle infrastructure now face a practical challenge: how to introduce post quantum security in systems that must remain secure, efficient, and maintainable for many years. The Lattice MachXO5™-NX TDQ FPGA family was developed to address this need. It is the world’s first secure control FPGA family to support the full CNSA 2.0 PQC algorithm suite in hardware, alongside widely used classical cryptography. This allows system designers to implement quantum resistant security in control and management functions without redesigning their architectures or adding separate security devices.
Built on the Lattice Nexus™ platform, MachXO5 NX TDQ delivers unmatched security, reliability, and flexibility for Computing, Communications, Industrial, and Automotive applications. MachXO5-NX TDQ implements the full suite of CNSA 2.0 and NIST-approved PQC algorithm suite, providing robust protection against quantum threats, including LMS, XMSS, ML-DSA, ML-KEM, AES256-GCM, SHA2, SHA3, and SHAKE. Built on a hardware Root of Trust (HRoT) architecture, MachXO5-NX TDQ features trusted single-chip boot, unique device secrets, integrated non-volatile memory, and locking controls for SPI/JTAG interfaces.
Configuration protection is provided through authenticated and encrypted bitstreams using PQC and classical primitives to ensure data integrity and prevent unauthorized access. To support long-lifecycle deployments, MachXO5-NX TDQ provides patent-pending crypto-agility that enables in-field algorithm updates with anti-rollback protection, while secure key management uses revokable root keys and hierarchical structures for both PQC and classical keys. Additionally, the device provides advanced cryptography support including AES-CBC/GCM 256-bit, ECDSA-384/521, SHA-384/512, and RSA 3072/4096-bit for comprehensive bitstream and user data protection.
Other protections include SCA resiliency, CAVP-compliant algorithms, and lifecycle security via DICE, SPDM, and Lattice SupplyGuard™. Available with multiple density and package options, MachXO5-NX TDQ devices are shipping to leading Communications and Compute customers and are supported by the latest Lattice Radiant™ design software, enabling designers to build quantum-ready, end-to-end secure systems.
Lattice MachXO5-NX TDQ doesn’t just meet new standards, it sets them, creating a foundation for the next decade of trusted, energy-efficient computing. It is the latest example of Lattice’s commitment to providing industry-leading secure, low power FPGA technology that addresses today’s infrastructure challenges and enables customers to future-proof their applications.
