Ravi Sharma is distinguished by his ability to bridge cybersecurity, governance and business leadership in a way that creates measurable organizational impact. While many professionals focus on adding controls, Ravi has built a reputation for challenging unnecessary complexity and improving assurance effectiveness. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated that stronger cybersecurity is achieved not through more controls, but through better controls aligned to actual risk.

Ravi brings deep experience across IT audit, cybersecurity assurance, cloud risk, technology governance and compliance. His credentials include CPA, CISA, CISSP, CRISC and CMA, reflecting both technical depth and enterprise risk management expertise. He has led assurance initiatives across cloud security, data loss prevention, endpoint protection, ISO 27001, identity and access management, third-party risk, operational resilience and enterprise technology governance.

A notable example of his impact is his leadership of a multi-year IT SOX optimization initiative at a large public company. Rather than allowing the control environment to continue expanding, Ravi helped develop a structured, risk-based rationalization approach that reduced the IT SOX control population from more than 400 controls to approximately 130 while maintaining appropriate assurance coverage and alignment with financial reporting risk. The initiative preserved a record of zero material weaknesses, strengthened audit focus and generated approximately $750,000 in recurring annual operational efficiency gains.

Beyond organizational impact, Ravi actively contributes to the profession through published thought leadership and volunteer service. He has authored six technical articles for leading industry publications including CIO.com, Dark Reading and ISACA Journal, helping practitioners navigate emerging challenges in cybersecurity, governance, cloud transformation and technology risk.
